Safety on the Campaign Trail: Atlantic Canada

Have you experienced or witnessed hate/violence in politics in Atlantic Canada?

Some organizations that support women and gender-diverse people are working together to respond to growing concerns about safety in politics.

We’re seeing more harmful ideas spreading—such as hate toward women, 2SLGBTQIA+ people, Indigenous people, immigrants, and people of colour. These kinds of attacks can happen to candidates on the campaign trail or after they’re elected.

Whether you’re a:

  • current or former elected official or candidate
  • a volunteer/staffer
  • a potential candidate (you would like to or have considered running)
  • or a partner/spouse/family member of any of the above

We want hear from you. If you’ve had an experience like this in Atlantic Canada, we invite you to share it by filling out this short survey. It will take about 5 minutes. Your responses are anonymous and confidential, and you can choose whether or not to take part.

By continuing with the survey, you are indicating your informed consent to participate.

Survey open until November 30th, 2025.
